## 2026-09-12 — Half the tooltips in the app were the browser's, not Jarvis's `web 0.135.0`
Hovering the mark beside a conversation drew a dark rounded bubble with a little arrow, in the
console's own colours, right away. Hovering a badge on a dock row drew a white square box in the
system font, a second later, with no arrow and nothing in common with the first one. Both were
tooltips. They looked like they came from two different programs, because one of them did: the second
was the browser drawing its own, which no stylesheet can reach.
**Every tooltip in the console is now the same tooltip.** Thirty-eight places were still handing the
job to the browser: the dock's rows, its badges and its pin; the timestamps in the notification list;
the subject and the due time of a scheduled wake-up in a transcript; what a tool call was aimed at
and how risky it was; truncated names in the vault, in the documents panel, in the scope picker, in
the agents and enrolment-token lists; the fields in the audit log; the shell and process id on a
terminal, and the state of a recorded session; the next run of a schedule; the step labels in the
installer; the version detail on the update banner; the licence details; the ceiling chips on an
asset's access row. All of them draw the console's bubble now — same background, same corners, same
size of text, same arrow, same delay — and they no longer wait a second to appear.
**On a phone they now behave like the thing they are attached to.** A browser tooltip never appeared
on a touch screen at all, so none of this text was reachable there. Where it sits on something you
tap — a dock row, a conversation link, a menu entry — it still is not, because a bubble that opens on
tap would race the tap that opens the conversation, and the row prints what matters in its own line
instead. Where it sits on something inert — a timestamp, a status chip, a step label — tapping it now
shows the text. That is new.
**One mark was drawing two of them.** The tile that shows what Jarvis is doing in a conversation
raised the console's bubble on hover and then, a second later, the browser's underneath it with the
same word inside. The second one is gone. What a screen reader announces for that tile is unchanged;
the name never came from the part that was removed.
**The platform mark in the asset wizard now has no tooltip at all**, rather than a better-looking one.
It repeated the platform's name in a bubble directly above the same name, printed in bold, an inch to
its right.
**And the count of open conversations has gone from the top bar.** It sat next to the notification
bell and reported how many conversations were on the rail — which the rail says itself, in full, a
few centimetres away.
**Self-hosters:** console only. No schema change, no configuration, no new key, nothing to do.
